Another month and another invite to the RTIwala Team. Again, the whole RTIwala Team has been invited to MSME & Entrepreneurship Convention 2017 held at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). This sort of event is quite rare in this agrarian state of Central India.

Well, this event is state-sponsored one where the lead organizers are MSME Ministry GoI and Government of Madhya Pradesh. The Ernest & Young (EY) and Confederation of Indian Industry were the Knowledge and National partners, respectively. The MSME–Self-Employment Convention was held at Hotel Amer Green in Bhopal on November 17 and 18. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for MSME Shri Giriraj Singh (as Chief Guest) has inaugurated the convention at 10:30 am on November 17. A panel discussion was also taken place on the second day of the convention.

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a few announcements in the inaugural session of two day-long Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Convention which are as follow:

  • MSME industries will get 40 percent grant at 5 equal annual instalments on investment towards plant and machinery.
  • The MSME units will get Rs 5 lakh up to 5 years for minimum 10 regular employees, to deposit it in the CPF at the rate of Rs one thousand per employee maximum in the form of employers’ share.
  • He informed that ‘MSME Samadhan’ arrangement has been made for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, to remove the payment related and other obstacles.

On the second day, there were some noteworthy speakers and fruitful discussion. The RTIwala’s Founder Sumeet Mahendra, not only asked couple of questions but also shared his feedback during the Incubators panel discussion with Dr Sandeep Kadwe and Mr V.L. Kantha Rao, Principal Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Ms Shreya Mishra, Co-Founder of Flyrobe and Mr Ajay Jain, VP TLabs.

A couple of Startups & Incubators in Bhopal has been awarded in the convention. Ms Shrey Mishra shared her success stories and how the Flyrobe got the market cap of ₹ 45 Crores. Whereas Laeeque Mansoori, a resident of Sehore, has established a small industry to manufacture plastic bags. Bags manufactured by him are being purchased by the traders of Bhopal, Indore and Obaidullah Ganj.

 

Trivial details about MSME & Entrepreneurship Convention 2017

  • Mr Sanjay Pathak, Minister of MSME (IC), Govt of MP presided the event on both the days.
  • Jabalpur-based Gun Carriage Factory (GCF), Jabalpur also put up its stall to display models of its major weapons, which are used by the Indian army. The GCF is looking forward to rope in local vendors of Madhya Pradesh to get the supply of small components used by it in the manufacturing of various warfare products.
  • About 200 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and self-employed persons took part in the exhibition.
